Extraordinary Congress | 18 July 2026

The Tshwane Regional Football Association will be holding the Extraordinary Congress as follows:

Date             : 18 July 2026

Time            : 9 am

Venue          : 31 Sports Rd, Lyttelton Manor, Centurion, 0157

The Congress will consider the audited financial statements for the 2024/25 financial year, appoint the Ethics Committee, and approve amendments to usher in the era of the Regional Executive Officer.

The Audited Financial Statements

The Audited Financial Statements were not presented at the Ordinary Congress held in November last year or at the Extraordinary Congress held in February this year. This was due, first, to a lack of funds to pay the auditors to complete the audit on time. With more pressure, the auditors resigned. However, and fortunately, during February, this association appointed new auditors to audit 2025/26 and 2026/27. They also agreed to audit 2024/25 (at a cost), and they did a fine job. On the 18th, the Members will consider these statements for adoption.

Appointment of the Ethics Committee

For a lengthy period, the association operated without the Ethics Committee. This presented a significant weakness in handling high-impact ethical cases. A case in point is the theft of funds from the association’s coffers in 2025, which required an internal investigation. Without the Ethics Committee, it was always going to be impossible to successfully conclude such an investigation. With the widely reported corruption giving rise to match-fixing within the region, no investigative instrument can better address these issues than an Ethics Committee sanctioned by the Regional Statutes. On the 18th, the Members will consider these candidates for appointment to the Ethics Committee.

Implementation of the Regional Executive Officer role

In February 2026 the association approved the conversion of the position of the Regional Secretary into a Regional Executive Officer (REO) position. To implement this, all references to the Regional Secretary in the Regional Statutes, Policies, and Regulations must be amended to refer to the Regional Executive Officer, plus remove the position must be removed from the election process. The Members will consider amendments to all affected documents and consider the introduction of the Human Resources Management policy for the effective management of the personnel lifecycle, including that of the REO.
