Having been made aware of the severe weather forecast for the 7th and 8th of March 2026, TRFA has postponed all MRL fixtures for that day, tentatively to the 15th of March 2026.
The postponement of fixtures is provided for in sections 8.8 and 8.9 of the TRFA Rules and Regulations, which correspond to the SAFA Uniform Competition Rules. See the text below:

Whilst ordinarily this decision would be taken in the early hours of the match days affected, with all the events that are taking place between the region and the province, as well as the Gauteng Department of Sports, Arts, Culture, and Recreation, there will be very little capacity to monitor the weather situation in the morning and make the necessary decisions.
This decision has the potential to save at least R21,000.00 on travelling costs and approximately R12,600.00 on referees’ costs (R33,600.00). The worst-case scenario is losing a day of football, which can be rescheduled to another date.
