Tshwane Inter-MRL Positional Playoffs | 21 June 2026

2026 Playoff Poster - 1

It’s finally here! The day we have all been waiting for!! The Inter-MRL Positional Playoffs for 2026 will determine the final and overall Top 8 Men’s Regional League standings!!.

The playoffs will now be played on the 21st of June 2026, not the 20th anymore, due to a replay of the fixture between Mighty Kings and Dlalisa Moyeni as ordered by the disciplinary hearing. The hearing was necessitated by a fixture between the two teams not being honored by Dlalisa, but, as the hearing found, due to an administrative error. As such, the fixture had to be rescheduled, and the costs incurred by Mighty Kings for the original fixture are to be paid by the association. This fixture will now be played on the 20th of June 2026.

The above fixture is key to the playoffs, as it determines positions 3 and 4 in Stream, which ultimately decide who plays against Silverton FC and Chillie Boys FC from Stream B on the 21st. We wish both teams well as they close the loop on the 20th at the Giants Stadium.

On a related issue, there was a hearing on Wednesday, the 17th of June 2026, on the matter between Mamelodi All Stars and Spartans. The matter was brought in as a protest by All Stars resulting from their match on the 14th of June 2026 at LC de Villiers. The protest was dismissed by the presiding officer on a technicality. Spartans will go to the second leg with a 1-0 lead.

In compliance with section 32 of the regional rules and regulations, if any fixture ends in a draw, the teams will go straight to penalty shootouts to decide the winner. However, for All Stars and Spartans, if they end up in a draw, the determination of the winner, as stipulated in section 32 of the regional Rules and Regulations, will be used before deciding on penalty kicks. There will be no extra time.

The winner between All Stars and Spartans will go ahead to the Inter-Regional Play-offs on the 4th of July 2026.

We would like to wish all the teams playing on the 21st of June well, and trust that they, too, will be fulfilled by the event and the results. They ran a good year. They all made us proud.

End
