Boosting Football Development & Affiliate Support

A Game-Changing Partnership

The Tshwane Regional Football Association (TRFA) has addressed long-standing concerns from affiliate members by securing a significant R1.2 million sponsorship.

This pivotal agreement with Shaka Sports, signed on June 13, 2025, spans three financial years.

(For 3 Financial Years)

The primary objective is to provide financial relief and promote the sustainable “display of football” at the grassroots level.

Strategic Grant Allocation

Grants are structured to ensure equitable distribution, aligning resources with the operational demands of each affiliate. Each affiliate will receive up to R20,000 exclusively for prizes and award ceremonies.

Note: Affiliate members hosting Under 19 Boys Leagues receive an additional R3,000.

Eligibility & Compliance Requirements

To ensure integrity and effectiveness, TRFA has established key compliance conditions:

  • League Structure: At least 6 teams, minimum 2 rounds of competition.
  • Player Eligibility: Players may participate in only one league.
  • Timelines: Leagues must commence by April 1 and conclude by October 30 (exceptions require approval).
  • Administration & Reporting: Mandatory weekly reports to TRFA.
  • Disciplinary Governance: Promptly address cases affecting league conclusions.
  • Award Ceremonies: Prizes distributed by first week of December, with TRFA validation.
  • Validation Process: Compliance verification in early November, grant disbursement by mid-November.

This sponsorship initiates a strategic shift, reinforcing the “display of football” as a foundational concept. By creating structured competitions and award platforms, affiliates enhance their operational credibility.

This approach lays the groundwork for future sponsorship opportunities, attracting additional investment to support broader development initiatives and showcase efficient competitive football management.
